Mother Leaves Diaper on KTX First Class... "Guess She Didn't Want to Put It in Her Luxury Bag"
"She had a luxury bag, but her sense of civic duty was at rock bottom."
On June 29, a post titled "Found a Dirty Diaper on the KTX" appeared on an online community.
User A shared, "I usually travel in the general compartment of the KTX, but I was extremely tired that day and wanted to rest more comfortably, so I booked a first-class seat."
KTX first-class seats are structured with two seats together and a separate single seat. A, who had reserved one of the two-seat spots, described, "A woman holding a baby who looked to be just under 12 months old sat next to me. The mother placed the child on the attached table to play. It looked dangerous, but the baby was lying half down playing with toys."
A continued, "The sound of the toys hitting the table was constant, so I gave up on reading. I understood that babies can fuss and make noise, so I tried to put on my earphones and sleep."
The mother and baby got off the train before A, who then noticed a diaper left in the seat’s netted pocket.
A commented, "I guess she didn’t want to put the diaper in her luxury bag. She had a luxury bag, but her civic sense was at rock bottom."
A added, "The mothers I know clean up all the surrounding trash to avoid being criticized. Even if not to that extent, let's not engage in such senseless behavior as leaving a diaper behind. Many mothers get criticized together because of this."
The story garnered various reactions from netizens, such as "She should be ashamed," "Let's maintain some dignity," "There are trash bins in the aisles between cars... she must have been too lazy," "That luxury bag was probably fake," and "What's wrong with her character?"
