'Superbad 4' Opening Week Predicts Top Spot in North America, Surpassing 'Inside Out 2'
The box office frenzy continues.
The prominent movie magazine Boxoffice Pro has predicted that the film 'Superbad 4 (directed by Chris Renaud and Patrick Delahanty)' will gross between a minimum of $70 million to a maximum of $85 million in its opening weekend in North America (approximately 97.28 billion to 118.13 billion Korean Won).
This forecast exceeds not only the opening score of 'Superbad 3' (2017), which ranked 8th in the all-time animation box office, but also surpasses the earnings of the previous series, including 'Superbad' (2010) and 'Superbad 2' (2013), raising fans' expectations that 'Superbad 4' could surpass the records of its predecessors.
Additionally, according to Boxoffice Pro, 'Superbad 4' is expected to gross up to $135 million (approximately 187.62 billion Korean Won) in its opening week alone. It is anticipated to become the first animation franchise series to achieve $5 billion in revenue (approximately 6.949 trillion Korean Won) and enter the Hall of Fame.
'Superbad 4' unfolds as a mini-blockbuster where Gru's family, with upgraded abilities as agents of the Anti-Villain League, leave behind their villainous deeds. They embark on a mission to stop the villain Maxim from escaping, driven by Gru's desire for revenge.
The film is set to hit theaters on June 24th (Wednesday).
